Plaza de Armas/ Zócalo de Puebla

Como en muchas otras ciudades novio hispanas, la plaza se rodea a de los edificios más importantes para la vida de la población, como es el Ayuntamiento y su majestuosa Catedral. Se delimitó siguiendo la traza reticular de la urbe y fue demarcada por los tres portales que la circundan. En sus inicios sirvió como mercado, el cual fue trasladado al Parían, por un fuerte incendio. También fue centro de distribución de agua, representaciones festivas, corridas de todos y sirvió de espacio para impartir justicia y ejecutar a los sentenciados. Actualmente está rodeado de longevos árboles, al centro se encuentra la fuente del Arcángel San Miguel que data de 1777.

Like many other Novohispanic cities, the square surrounds the most important buildings for the life of the population, such as the Town Hall and its majestic Cathedral. It is delimited according to the grid plan of the city and it was surround by the three portals. In the beginning it served as a market, which was transferred to the Parian , after a strong fire. It was also water distribution center , festive performances, and served space to do justice and to execute those sentenced . It is currently surrounded by ancient trees , the central source is the Archangel Michael, dating from 1777.
